One great getaway destination during the winter is the historic Cape May, located in the southern tip of New Jersey. It’s a top resort destination during the summer due to the beautiful beaches, Victorian charm, and endless things to do. During the winter the scenic beauty doesn’t change and there is still plenty to do. But, the crowds have dwindled and there is a peaceful, relaxed feeling around here that beckons guests for a quiet, winter retreat. On a cool day, there is something so sweet in finding the perfect place to get a delicious cup of coffee and a special treat (or two!). Keep reading for some favorite cafes in town to check out during your next winter getaway to our seaside hotel.

Cape May Coffee Stops

Magic Brain Café– Located just one block from the beach, this very popular café is open daily from 7am-10pm. You’ll find a quaint, relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious drinks. A favorite is the chai latte! They also have wonderful pastries if you are looking for a little treat.

Coffee Tyme at the Beach– This place is a quaint little stop that has two locations; one along Beach Road and one at the Washington Street Mall. Another shop with a relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. Their variety of coffee flavors is awesome! Toasted Coconut, Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble, and Snickerdoodle Cookie are just a few. They are open every day from 7am-5pm and they serve breakfast, lunch, and of course coffee. If you have a sweet tooth, their cookies and cinnamon buns are delicious!

Ostara’s Coffee House– This very cute little shop is a family owned coffee house that offers guests great coffee and a nice menu of other items. Smoothies, fresh juices, and lots of home baked goods make this a fun spot to check out.

Grab your coffee to go if you want to explore some of the sights around Cape May. The Winter season is the perfect time to visit the Avalon Stone Harbor Sanctuary and do some bird watching. The Cape May Fireman’s Museum is open year-round and is free to the public. Do some window shopping or visit the number of galleries in the area to see some fantastic local art.
