Our boutique Cape May lodging offers guests the amenities of a hotel with the friendliness and warmth of a bed and breakfast in a historical setting only a half block from the beach!

Room Amenities

All of our guest rooms have TVs, telephones, air conditioning, free wireless internet access, private baths, and are iPod friendly. Additionally, we provide hair dryers, bathroom toiletries, irons and ironing boards. Rooms with Queen or King size beds also have refrigerators. New this year beach umbrellas and beach chairs are now available. We are a non-smoking hotel. Due to the historic nature of the building, we do not have an elevator and are walk-up only.


When you arrive at our hotel please pull into the guest unloading zone just across from the front entrance, set your flashers, and come inside for check in where we will direct you to parking.

If you are plan on arriving later than 9:00 p.m., please call the hotel ahead of time so that we can explain our late arrival procedure.


Our Cape May, NJ hotel is set in the heart of the Historic district, so the use of your vehicle is not needed. Depending on the time of year, we will either direct you to a free street parking meter (from November 1st until April 30th) or to a complimentary parking (permit needed) on the Bank Street Parking Lot (between May 1st and October 31st), which is a 5-7 minute scenic walk back. We offer golf cart service from May 1st - October 31st to assist our guests to and from the parking lot. We also do have a bike rack on the premises, but please bring your own lock.


A $30 breakfast voucher for use in The Mad Batter Restaurant is included in the nightly room rate. During the winter months of January and February, breakfast is offered Friday through Monday only, and subject to the restaurant's hours of operation. The restaurant is closed on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Hotel guests receive a 30% discount on the purchase of dinner entrees at our restaurant (excluding alcohol.) Please check MadBatter.com for hours, menus, and to make your reservation.

Beach Access

Our Cape May, NJ hotel is located only a half block from the beach, and in the Summer season we provide towels for the beach in your room.  We also provide beach chairs and umbrellas starting Memorial day.

weekends only till 3rd week in June when full service starts.
Decatur Street opens July 1st
We also supply beach tags for access to the beach.

Check-in is after 3:00 p.m. We regret that we cannot accommodate early check-ins. If you are planning to arrive after 9:00 p.m., please call the hotel ahead of time so that we can explain our late arrival procedure.

Checkout is at 11:00 a.m.

Cancellations must be received at least 14 days prior to your arrival in order for a refund, minus a $50 processing fee per room. Cancellations made within 14 days of your arrival will allow a return of your deposit, minus a $50.00 processing fee per room, only if the accommodations are re-rented for the night(s) of your stay. There will be no refunds or credit for reduction of stay or cancellation after check-in.

Pets unfortunately cannot be accommodated at our hotel. We will be happy to recommend local boarding facilities.

Smoking is not allowed at our property. A $200 fee will be assessed if someone smokes in the room.
