Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery a Cape May Favorite
The Hawk Haven Vineyard and Winery is a stunning winery located on a sprawling 100+ acre farm in the Rio Grande section in Cape May County. The land began as a dairy and produce farm in 1940 and then the first vineyard, beginning with Cabernet Sauvignon, was planted in 1997.
Hawk Haven is less than 20 minutes south from our seaside hotel. If you are a wine aficionado and truly enjoy fantastic local wine, this is a great spot to visit. The “crushpad” is essentially a large cement patio where the grapes are brought for pressing after they are harvested. On Saturdays guests are invited to spend an afternoon on the “pad.” Learn something new with an educational wine testing and then enjoy a wine flight with vineyard views outside. Their Barrel Room Kitchen has delicious menu items that pair perfectly with their wines. Choose from charcuterie options, gourmet cheeses and various other snacks. All afternoon the air is filled with live music by local artists. Kick back and relax on a perfect winery afternoon getaway!
